Native English teachers for your kindergarten

Native English teachers for kindergartens, preschools and early years programs: Meridian Teachers, a teacher recruitment agency, introduces only teachers who have taught your age group and want the role.

What does a kindergarten need from an English teacher?

A kindergarten needs an English teacher who has taught children the same age as yours and knows your early years approach. We check each profile against those points, and against how your classes are staffed, before a teacher reaches you.

Experience with your age group

A class of two-year-olds and a pre-K class need different teachers. Tell us the ages and we look for teachers whose early childhood experience matches them.

Your early years approach

EYFS, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, a phonics program or a method of your own. Tell us what you use and we'll look for teachers who have worked with it.

A fit with how your classes are staffed

Some kindergartens pair the English teacher with a homeroom teacher. Others want the English teacher to lead the class. We look for teachers who have worked the way you do.

FAQ

Hiring an English teacher for your kindergarten

Have a question that isn't here? Ask us through the form below and the Meridian Teachers team will answer it.

Ask the schools team
Can you find native English teachers for a kindergarten?

Yes. 1,500+ teachers in our pool are native English speakers and 800+ have taught early childhood. We send the teachers who fit both your age group and your start date.

Do your teachers have early childhood qualifications?

Many do. 450+ list early years as their specialism, and 250+ of our early childhood teachers hold a PGCE, B.Ed or teaching licence. If the role needs a specific qualification, we only send teachers who hold it.

Can we see how a teacher works with young children before we hire?

You can ask for a lesson video before the interview. Every profile also has a photo, and some include a short intro video.

Can you find a teacher who knows EYFS or Montessori?

We look for teachers who have already worked with the approach your kindergarten follows. It is one of the points we check before a profile reaches you.

Can one search cover our kindergarten and primary classes?

Yes. 800+ teachers in our pool have taught early childhood and 1,400+ have taught primary. Send both roles in one request and we shortlist for each.

What do kindergartens usually ask for when they hire an English teacher?

In the Q3 2026 edition of our Teacher Hiring Report, 59% of early years roles asked for a native English speaker, 58% for a degree and 32% for teaching experience, most often one year. 6% asked for a teaching licence. In the countries where most of these roles were posted, the teacher's work visa asks for a degree anyway, so a role that does not mention one usually still needs one.

Do your early childhood teachers have classroom experience?

Yes. Of the 800+ teachers in our pool who have taught early childhood, 750+ have two or more years in the classroom and 550+ have already taught in Asia. Any minimum you set for years in the classroom applies to your whole shortlist.
